The 25th annual Texas Advanced Paralegal Seminar (TAPS) takes place October 2-4 at the Embassy Suites Denton Convention Center. Sponsored by the State Bar of Texas Paralegal Division, “On Silver Stars We Soar Into TAPS 2024” will feature three days of CLE, networking, a keynote speech by State Bar Immediate Past President Cindy V. Tisdale, a vendor exhibit hall, and the division’s annual meeting.

Attendees can earn up to 13 hours of CLE on a range of topics, including the intersection of civil and criminal liability, the role of a paralegal in Title VII cases, “E-Discovery and Ethics,” and AI-centric discussions on cybersecurity, legal risks, and ethics.

Tisdale will present “Professionalism: What Would Ted Lasso Do?” She served as the State Bar’s 143rdpresident (2023-2024) and previously served as chair of the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors, the Texas Bar Foundation, and the State Bar of Texas Family Law Section. She is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and has lectured more than 60 times for TexasBarCLE.

Other speakers include Justice Mike Wallach, of the 2nd Court of Appeals in Fort Worth; Hosch & Morris co-founder and data privacy and cybersecurity attorney Kathryne M. Morris; and Judge Derbha Jones, of the 467th District Court in Denton County, among others.

Additionally, a panel of Texas Board of Legal Specialization-certified paralegals will be available to answer questions about certification exam preparation.
