The Austin Young Lawyers Association is hosting a resource fair for women in need Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A comprehensive all-day program, the event provides free resources, including legal assistance, medical care and mental health services, job skills and educational counseling, social services, financial counseling, haircuts, a clothing closet, childcare, as well as breakfast and lunch.
Nearly 2,800 women and children in the Austin area have been helped by the annual event over the past eight years, AYLA said in a press release.
Individuals wishing to donate money to help fund the event can do so on AYLA’s website.
The fair will be at the Schmidt-Jones Family Life Center at 1300 Lavaca St. in Austin near the First United Methodist Church.
