Benny Agosto Jr., a partner in the Houston office of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Friend, has been named president of the Legal Education Fund of the Hispanic National Bar Association.

The Legal Education Fund promotes educational programs that expose underrepresented students and professionals to opportunities in the legal profession. Among other initiatives, the fund provides law student scholarships, community outreach programming, and a law camp for high school students. Agosto, the 2014-2015 chair of the State Bar of Texas Hispanic Issues Section, is a co-founder of the fund and served as national president of the Hispanic National Bar Association from 2011 to 2012.

“I am honored to take over as the president of the fund, and I am excited to work with the new board members, Aida Rodriguez and Gregory Kenney,” Agosto said.
