Amy Starnes, director of public affairs for the Supreme Court of Texas, received the Anne Charles Excellence Award during the 2023 National Association of Bar Professionals, or NABE, Communication Workshop held October 3-6 in Park City, Utah.
The award, one of the highest honors of the NABE Communications Section, is presented to a member of the NABE Communications Section who has made a significant contribution to advancing the goals of the section through committee service or other section volunteer efforts. The award recognizes an “unsung hero” who has shared his or her time and expertise on behalf of the section.
The NABE COMM Awards Committee selects the award recipient from a pool of open nominations. The committee is made up of prior award recipients, who in turn, select four to five other section members to serve on the selection committee.
Prior to joining the Supreme Court, Starnes previously served as public information director for the State Bar of Texas from 2015 to 2022.
