For some local Dallas charities, Christmas is coming in July thanks to the Dallas Bar Association.
The DBA will collect donations Friday to benefit the Austin Street Center, Big Brothers Big Sisters, North Texas Food Bank, and the Family Place as a part of its annual “Christmas in July” initiative.
The program is headed up by the bar association’s Community Involvement Committee, which is led by co-chairs Art Cavazos of Vinson & Elkins and Bryan Elwood of Dykema Cox Smith. Melissa Bellan of Jordan, Houser & Flournoy and Karen Keltz of Keltz Law are the chairs of the charity project.
Men’s and women’s clothing, nonperishable canned foods, travel-size toiletries, and school supplies are some of the donations the charities need. Here is the full wish list of items folks can donate to help each organization.
People can drop off donations on Friday from 9 a.m. to noon in the Locke Room of the Belo Mansion at 2101 Ross Ave. in Dallas.
