The Dallas Bar Association and Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas will host several free legal aid events during September, including in-person civil, expunction, and veterans clinics across Dallas County, as well as a call-in program with lawyers.

Residents may call the DBA’s LegalLine at (214) 220-7476 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on September 9 and 16 to receive general legal advice on anything from divorce and child support to wills, insurance, employment, and criminal matters. Callers will speak with an anonymous attorney and may be referred to other area services.

Additionally, the Dallas Volunteer Attorneys Program—a joint initiative between the DBA and LANWT—will host 12 free legal clinics this month, where residents who qualify for assistance under Legal Aid’s income eligibility guidelines can meet with lawyers for no-cost advice in civil legal matters. Applicants are asked to bring proof of income, identification, and legal papers with them to the clinic. DVAP will also offer a special clinic for veterans only on September 4, and a special clinic for expunction cases on September 15.

All clinics begin at 5 p.m., with the exception of the expunction clinic, which begins at 4 p.m., and the veteran’s clinic, which begins at 2 p.m. Schedules and locations are as follows:
