Citing Benny Agosto Jr.’s role in promoting education in the Hispanic community, fighting bigotry, and encouraging diversity in the legal profession, the Anti-Defamation League recently awarded the Houston lawyer with an ADL Civil Rights Medal. Agosto, a partner in Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Friend in Houston, was one of six recipients to accept an ADL award during a Nov. 13 ceremony and concert commemorating the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Civil Rights Act. Among many other recognitions and leadership roles, Agosto is the founder of the Mexican American Bar Association of Texas Foundation and current president of the Hispanic National Bar Association’s Legal Education Fund.
