For Random Profiles, we randomly pick one of our 94,000-plus attorneys and do a Q&A. We’ve found that every Texas lawyer has an interesting story. Will yours be next?

Education: Texas Tech undergrad – guns up Red Raiders, and Texas Wesleyan School of Law, which is now Texas A&M School of Law. So I guess that makes me an Aggie by proxy? Can you be a Red Raider AND an AGGIE? Uh-oh.

Bet you didn’t know: I used to be in musical theatre and wanted to star on Broadway.

Current Project: Building my brand as an entertainment lawyer and being a new GRANDMA.

Born/Age: Born in Lubbock, Texas 1973; YOU DO THE MATH

Family: Married to a wonderful man, have a beautiful daughter and granddaughter, and a handsome & talented son.

Areas of practice: Primarily Entertainment Law, Intellectual Property, Contract & Business Law, and recently accepted to become an Independent Hearing Examiner (IHE) for the Texas Education Agency, and an Adjunct Professor for Tarrant County College.

Another little known fact: I take a modern dance class at Tarrant County College at the age of 41!

Culinary talent: Homemade chicken enchiladas…my family loves these but only make them about twice a year…they are a lot of work!

Mentor/hero: My grandfather was very influential in my life. He did not say much, but his actions spoke loud. He taught me the value of a dollar, hard work, loving your family, and to have CONVICTION. He was taken suddenly when I was 15. But he instilled a lot in me in our short time together.

Most important career lesson: Do not take cases in an area of law you know nothing about!

Latest pursuit: Auditioned for a local musical. Hopefully, next time I will get the part (I think I was a little rusty…haha).

Favorite saying/quote: Proverbs 15: 22 – Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.

Pet peeve: Long winded story tellers!

Secret for staying young: First and foremost, God has been good to me – the King Spa, awesome family, and church family.

Favorite TV program: The Good Wife….what else is there??

Favorite musician: My cousin, Jason Waltony Berg, the trumpet player.

Favorite place to find albums: Amazon….don’t even have to get out of bed.

Favorite movie: So many to choose from….hmmm…ALL CHICK FLICKS…so cliché…I know!

Favorite sport: Soccer – and when my son goes pro, it will totally pay off.

Favorite food: Definitely Mexican food….I live in Texas….Mexican food doesn’t get any better!  YUMMY…Joe T Garcia’s.

Favorite restaurant: Glorias!

Talents (besides law): Dancing, singing, and loving people.

Hobbies: I love to get in the yard and plant things, get all dirty, and make a big mess while making things look pretty.

Memorable vacation: Kauai – the GARDEN island…now I want a house there!

My favorite weekend retreats are: The King Spa – if you haven’t been, you are missing out.

Best thing about being a lawyer: I’m the boss!!!!
