Best thing about being a lawyer: Representing the United States of America.

If you could be anyone else for a day, who would it be? If only for a day, I’d have to say my wife. That would be a learning experience.

Favorite TV program: Breaking Bad (currently); The Wire (always).

If I had more time, I would: Spend it in the garage with my father.

How do you think the practice will change in the next 15 years? With so many new lawyers, the legal profession will have to diversify to remain prestigious. I expect to see more part-time lawyers.

Areas of practice: Criminal Law.

Education: Texas A&M University (2002); New York University School of Law (2005).

Culinary talent: Eating.

Most important career lesson: “Take your job seriously, but don’t take yourself seriously.” Seriously.

Favorite saying/quote: “People suck.”

Pet peeve: Lane blockers, that is, drivers that prevent others from turning right at a red light.

The last movie I saw: Zero Dark Thirty.

Favorite food: Cream cheese kolaches from West, Texas.

Favorite restaurant: R+D Kitchen (currently); Herrera’s Café (always).

Hobbies: Playing softball, watching baseball/football, and working on cars.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing attorneys today? Supply and demand.

If you weren’t an attorney, what profession do you think you would be in? Play-by-play radio man for the Texas Rangers. (After Eric Nadel retires, of course.)

What has changed the most technologically or practice wise since you have been licensed? The prevalence of social media.
