Sadly it seems the legislature is ever loosening provisions concerning barratry and solicitation. Although marketing is increasingly competitive, the aggressive nature and embarrassing content can damage the public view of the profession. I would encourage attorneys to watch the HB 2164 and similar bills. The bill analysis is not yet posted, but the proposed changes seem to loosen the reigns on attorney "marketing."
